Well, we've made it past the scary 14.5 week point. I was officially 15 weeks yesterday and so far, so good.
We've decided we're going to spill the beans on Monday after our ultrasound where we (hopefully) find out what kind of munchkin we're having. I called my family today and told them. I wanted to make sure they found out at least a little bit before the rest of the world. As expected, everyone is excited that we've made it this far.
I'm still a little nervous and honestly, which I'm sure isn't surprising after all my previous moaning and groaning. I also feel like it's all a bit surreal. I keep thinking that something is going to happen and then it will just be Matt and I (and now the puppy) forever. But it seems that in July we'll have ourselves a real, honest to goodness baby. Craziness.
I'm feeling good, still have a weird appetite and sometimes I just feel like straight up crap, but overall I really can't complain at all. Still not showing but I am feeling a little bit of tightness in my lower abdomen area. I think I MIGHT have felt the first little butterfly flutter the other day. I had finished my new pregnancy workout (Long and Lean Pregnancy is what I think it's called? It's radical) and there's a ten minute meditation period at the end, so while I was doing that I felt a very strange bubbly sensation for about two seconds. I haven't felt anything like it before or since. It very well could have been a gas or stomach bubble but it also might have been baby saying howdy. Who knows. Until I feel a good, hard kick I won't shout for joy that I felt the baby move. From what I read that will probably happen sometime next week but we'll see. I think my cavernous insides might hide this little sucker forever!
On a strange side note, I think the puppy has been great preparation for a baby and it's also shown me the kind of Dad Matt is going to be. In a word, AMAZING. He is willing to get up and take the dog out (when he wakes up or I wake him) and he's so sweet and so hilarious. I think he's a little jealous that I'm the dogs favorite and he tries really hard to take time to play with him and cuddle him when he gets home from work. It makes me really, really grateful to have married that kind of man. I swear every day I love him more.
So there's that. 15 weeks, feeling good and anxious to get to my appointment on Monday!!
